Fire Worm Refugium

The fire worm seems to
like living in the Refugium.
No one is in there that can bother him!

He sure has grown a LOT
he is now over 6 inches long!

Baby Fireworm

This is a new baby fire worm I found in the grow out tank.
He will be going into the Refugium just as soon as I can catch him.

Pet FireWorm

This is my pet fire worm.
The bristles of FIRE WORMS are hollow, venom-filled that can easily penetrate your skin and break off, if this worm is handled. The venom produce an intense irritation hence the common name FIRE WORM

I found this one in my grow out frag tank.

The first time I saw him he scared the crap out of me!!
I had to move him to the Refugium
You can see the rest of his pictures HERE

Our Refugium

A refugium is a body of water that’s physically separated from the main aquarium, but shares a common water supply with it. (One) purpose of a refugium is to provide a refuge for animals and(/or) algae that suffer from excess predation in the main display tank. The (net) effect is to increase the diversity of the whole system beyond that possible with a single tank of similar size.” Synergism–the whole is greater than the sum of the parts!!!
We enjoy watching the “Little Critters” in the tank as mucn as watching the main tank!

We have the refgum plumed after the skimmer and 2 diy overflows into the main tank.
It is lit with some NO fish lights and it does very good.
Our Refugium is a bit above the main tank.
